We are pleased to announce that, on Thursday 26th July, 2007 Steritech Pty Ltd received approval from the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS) for heat treatment at its Wetherill Park, NSW plant.
Heat Treatment is a major addition to our current AQIS Approved sterilisation and decontamination solutions – Gamma Irradiation and Ethylene Oxide Gas Fumigation.
The details of the approval are as follows:
Please be aware that Steritech Pty Ltd has added new capacities to their quarantine heat treatments. The below shows the ICON treatments that are able to be performed at Steritech in Wetherill Park but there are limitations.

DIRECTIONS:
T9968 - 56c (Core Temperature) for minimum 30 minutes.
T9569 - at least 85c for at least 8 hours once the core temperature has been reached.
T9570 - at not less than 85c for not less than 12 hours once the core temperature has been reached.
T9571 - at not less than 85c for not less than 24 hours once the core temperature has been reached.
CLASSES:
4.1 - Heat Treatment facilities - new directions
4.2 - Gamma Irradiation facilities
4.6 - Fumigation facilities - Only Ethylene Oxide
LIMITATIONS:
Goods must fit within the confines of a chep pallet (116cm x 116cm) to a maximum height of 2.2m.
Chamber can accommodate 14 such pallets. Must liaise directly with Steritech.
The maximum thickness of timber allowed is 50mm.
Can only apply ICON Treatment prescribed under T9968, T9569, T9570 and T9571 as above.
