There is a lot of excitement about the new Steritech Heat Treatment Chamber which has been commissioned at our Wetherill Park NSW plant.
The new 34 cubic metre chamber will provide both dry and moist heat solutions. Heat treatment can be used for a variety of purposes, including:
Australian Quarantine Approved heat treatment*
Treatment for export consignments**
Food commodities
Devitalising seeds
Insect and pest decontamination
Elimination of vegetative bacteria
*Steritech is currently pursuing Quarantine Approval as a heat treatment provider
** Please check with the country of destination as to their quarantine requirements
At present, all goods requiring mandatory heat treatment are sent, at the importers cost, to either Queensland or Victoria. This is usually an expensive exercise and also takes up a lot of time. Our new Heat Chamber will allow goods to be treated in NSW, overcoming the logisitcal costs incurred.
We have already had customers use the service for consumer products, such as hair conditioners, shampoos, shower gels and chinese medicinal supplements, which can attract water-borne bacteria. Our heat treatment can easily solve this problem. These enquiries are in addition to the numerous calls from importers wanting to use our service for AQIS directed heat treatment.
