Friday, June 09, 2006 Steritech CEO George West Appointed to iiA Board It is with great pleasure that we announce the appointment of Mr George West, CEO of Steritech Pty Ltd, to the Board of the International Irradiation Association (iiA).
George has been actively involved with the Association (previously it was the Aiii) for many years and is held in the highest regard as a foremost expert in Gamma Irradiation.
George’s appointment is a tribute to the progression of Steritech Pty Ltd as a world leader in sterilisation and decontamination, which has built such a strong reputation in the industry through his leadership and guidance for over 30 years.
Apart from becoming a board member, George was also honored, by the Association, as a Laureate in 2003. The group of Laureates comprises of a very select number of experts whose contributions to the radiation industry have been recognised and rewarded by their peers.
The iiA is a worldwide industry funded, permanently staffed organisation that provides leadership and support to the membership in advancing the safe and beneficial use of irradiation technology, by providing: -
i. Comprehensive information about all aspects of the radiation processing industry; ii. Educational material to describe, promote and defend our beneficial technologies; and iii. To represent the members in all dealings with Government departments such as various regulatory authorities, International organizations such as the International Atomic Energy Agency and other related organizations such as the Gamma Irradiation Processing Association. .
